Romantic Wedding Flowers at Stephens Green Club, Dublin

Audrey and Fergal’s Dublin wedding was a beautiful and intimate celebration held at the elegant The Stephen’s Green Club. With a heartfelt ceremony in the Card Room followed by dinner in the Hibernian Room, the day was relaxed, personal, and shared with around thirty of their closest family and friends.

This wedding was particularly meaningful for me to be part of. Audrey and I first met nearly ten years ago while working together as florists in a flower shop in Avoca. Over the years we stayed in touch, and Audrey later opened her own shop. I still pop in to help during busy periods, and our professional connection naturally grew into a friendship. When Audrey and Fergal — who have been together for nearly twenty-seven years — decided to celebrate their marriage, it felt very special to be asked to create the flowers for their day.

The floral theme centred around a soft blush colour palette, layered with deeper pinks, gentle peaches, and touches of lime green for contrast. Sweet Avalanche roses were the dominant flower throughout the designs, setting the tone for the arrangements and creating a romantic base that flowed throughout the celebration. They were complemented with spray roses, lisianthus, carnations, and snapdragons, adding texture while keeping the roses as the clear focal point. A mix of greenery was used throughout, with trailing ivy bringing natural movement to the designs, supported by ferns and soft touches of eucalyptus.

Audrey’s bridal bouquet was designed in a loose, trailing garden style using Sweet Avalanche roses, spray roses, delicate supporting blooms, and flowing ivy. Finished with a pale blush ribbon and secured with pearl pins, the bouquet beautifully complemented Audrey’s striking pink dress.

For the ceremony in the Card Room at The Stephen’s Green Club, the space was framed with four pedestal arrangements — two on each side — placed on both higher and lower pedestals to create depth and balance. At floor level, lanterns and glass vases filled with flowers added warmth and softness around the arrangements. Pew ends lined the aisle leading towards the ceremony table, which was styled with a floral arrangement and three candles, creating a romantic and intimate setting.

Following the ceremony, guests moved to the Hibernian Room for dinner where the floral styling continued with elevated arrangements placed on tall stands above the tables. At the base of each stand, mirror plates with small glass vases filled with flowers brought the design down to table level, creating a layered and elegant look. Hanging glass globes with tea lights added soft candlelight, helping to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere as the evening unfolded.

Audrey and Fergal’s celebration was a beautiful reflection of their story — after nearly three decades together, the day was not about a large traditional wedding but about gathering the people closest to them and celebrating a life already richly shared. Being asked to create the flowers for a fellow florist and friend made the day even more special, and it was an honour to play a small part in such a meaningful celebration.
